"I don't think any comment would do this piece justice. The first time I saw it I fell in love with it, and having seen it many times since the feelings are the same. I don't want to "hype" this movie, because I hate when people do that. I think I can say that it is an extremely poignant portrayal of humanity. Raw and wondrous, the movie effectively captures the gamut of emotions that are the human experience (i know it sounds like total crap, but IT'S TRUE!!!) Add the haunting sounds that Bjork wrote for this movie, and from the first musical number on you're enchanted... These words won't mean much until you see the movie, so get out there and get it. I wasn't really aware of Bjork or Lars von Trier (the director) before this movie. Now i'm obsessed with the both of them! blah blah blah, praise praise praise, just check it out! "

"A friend told me to go and see this movie about a thousand times before I actually saw it. She told me it was an extremely sad movie. While I was watching I kept on thinking that it wasn't too sad at all, it actually told me that you always had to look on the bright side of life. But then it started to get really sad. I think I've never cried this long over one movie. Even when the end credits came I couldn't stop. But it is not a bad thing. This movie is beautiful and extremely real, despite the musical element. Björk has done some great work here you can see that she almost isn't acting anymore, she seems to be experiencing it herself. So, if you haven't seen this one, go and see it. "

"If you had to pick only one movie to see this year, you would be extremely hard pressed to find a film more deserving of this honor than Dancer In The Dark. I never felt so deeply moved and yet uplifted at the same time. The only negative thing I can muster to say is "How in the world could this work of art be missed by the Academy?" Truly a great let-down. Winner at Cannes Film Festival for best picture and best actress proves that someone somewhere is giving credit where credit is due. Watch and enjoy what cinema could be like if..."
I read these comments.I want to read this movie even more.
